Detroit Catholic Central High School & Sabina Marching Bands Announced for Rome Parade 2019!

We are excited to confirm the Detroit Catholic Central High School and Sabina Marching Bands for the Rome Parade & Festival 2019!

Detroit Catholic Central High School Marching Band

Detroit Catholic Central High School Marching Band, from Novi, Michigan, performs and regularly achieves a Superior rating at Michigan School Band and Orchestra Festivals. They have performed nationally at the Hawaiian Invitational and internationally at London’s New Year’s Day Parade, La Grande Parade de Paris, Madrid’s Cabalgata de Reyes and the Rome New Year Parade & Festival in Italy. The Music Department consists of a full band and orchestra programme including: Beginning Band, Concert Band, Symphony Band, Marching Band, Jazz and World Drumming classes. Director of Bands Mr Greg Normandin, currently serves on the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Executive Board as VP of Orchestral Activities.

Catholic Central High School is an all-male high school founded in 1928 by the Basilian Fathers. Its current campus was dedicated in 2005 and has an enrollment of nearly 1,100 students.

Sabina Music Band

The cultural association “Sabina Music Band” was formed in 2017 in Casoeria, Rieti thanks to a small group of musicians joined by the same desire to create a music band, in the field of marching bands, who play the whole spectrum of traditional music from the Sabina area. Despite its recent foundation, the group already has over 30 musicians from both Sabina Reatina and Sabina Romana. Under the direction of M. Umberto di Guiseppe ,m the Band specialises in presenting a a varied repertoire, which always entertains the public and fills the musicians with a passion.

Participants for the Rome New Year Parade & Festival will be announced throughout the next few months.
