The first day of the New Year in Rome will be ‘hotter’ than usual. The famous Rome Parade returns and for the 2024 edition announces even more performers than in previous years! A direct current energy that will be released in the Trident of the Capital, starting at 3 pm, from Piazza del Popolo, and continuing to Via del Corso, Via Tomacelli, Via dei Condotti, Piazza di Spagna and Via del Babuino.
The London-based Destination Events, organiser of the event and the simultaneous London New Year’s Day Parade, has announced the line-ups that will be parading, mostly from the United States and Italy, for a high-level cultural meeting in the name of good, clean fun!
From San Angelo, Texas, will come the Angelo State University Ram Band; from San Francisco, California the Archbishop Riordan High School Crusader Marching Band; from Virginia the Charlottesville High School Marching Knights; from Sparks, Nevada, the Edward C. Reed High School Raider Band; from Overland Park, Kansas, the Howlin’ Husky Marching Band, from the north side of Chicago the Libertyville High School Marching Wildcats; from New York the Saints Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps; from Dallas the Spirit of America Dancers; from the female community around the world the Red Hat Society; from Southern California The Spirit of Great Oak Marching Band & Guard; from Birmingham, Alabama, the Vestavia Hills Rebel Marching Band; from Palm Beach County, Florida, The West Boca Raton High School Band “Vanguard” Marching Band; from College Park, Georgia, Woodward Academy.
From Italy, on the other hand, a number of formations with different particularities are confirmed: the Artefatti Stilts of Myriam Abutori, the Associazioni Di Rievocazione Storica Riunite coordinated by the A.R.S. Avxilia Legionis APS, the Gruppo Storico e Sbandieratori Città di Castiglion Fiorentino (Castiglion Fiorentino Historical Group and Flag-wavers) and the unfailing Gruppo Folk ‘La Frustica’ of Faleria.
Framing this long artistic procession will be the most characteristic models of the Vespa Side Car Tours and the Megaflatable Balloons, mega artistic inflatable balloons that, in addition to the traditional Rome Parade, Senator and Centurion, will present the public with two new characters this year: the majorette Marie and the vigilante Trevor the Triangle.
The show, hosted by Stefano Raucci and Francesca Ceci, will be displayed on two mega screens in live streaming on the event’s YouTube channel. In addition to the Rome Parade, Destination Events has a series of concerts in store in the most evocative basilicas of Rome and the “Frascati Festival” which will see some of the bands scheduled in Rome parade in a reduced lineup on the last day of the year.
