Rome, 11 November 2024 – The Eternal City is preparing to host a spectacular event: the new edition of the New Year’s Rome Parade, which on 1 January 2025 will see some of the best marching bands, cheerleading groups and folk bands parade through the heart of Rome, between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna. This annual tradition, which combines music, culture and entertainment, brings an incredible variety of musical and artistic groups directly from the United States and different parts of Italy to the capital, making the city even more lively and colourful to celebrate the start of the New Year.
Among the American groups already confirmed for this year’s edition are the Detroit Catholic Central High School, led by director Logan Bonathan; the Hamilton High School Charger Marching Band from Sussex, Wisconsin, directed by Jon Waite; the Parkview Marching Band, from Lilburn, Georgia, under the direction of Carlos Franco; the Cotton Candies Marching Krewe from Huntsville, Alabama, will be present, with their peculiar combination of female empowerment and choreography in pink costumes and white boots; the Heritage High School ‘Incomparable Marching Storm’, from Newport News, Virginia; and finally the Varsity Spirit All-American Dancers, Cheerleaders & Drum Majors, who will bring the enthusiasm and tradition of American cheerleading to Italy.
The Rome Parade will take place on 1 January 2025 from 15:30 and will be open to the public free of charge. This is an unmissable occasion for families, music lovers and all those who wish to welcome the New Year with culture and entertainment.
A list of the other line-ups will be announced soon.
