ROME NEW YEAR 2024

It may be high summer – but preparations for one of Europe’s finest New Year celebrations are already well underway.

And the forthcoming event is likely to be the biggest and the in the event’s history.

Band directors, choristers, and choreographers, from across the USA, are heading to Rome next month (July) to begin their preparations to perform at Rome New Year 2024.

The Rome Parade, and accompanying concert performances, which attract hundreds of thousands of people to the centre of the city, have become a hugely anticipated fixture in Italy’s calendar of leading events.

The week-long site visit means that educators can get a first-hand feel for all that their talented charges are about to experience from walking the route of the parade, visiting historic concert venues and  choosing their programme of educational visits.

Rome New Year is now recognised across the World as a magnificent showcase for the city, the region, and the country as a whole.

With its mesmeric mix of all American musicians, cheerleaders and Roman and Italian cultural, contemporary, and traditional performance groups, this unique event has made its mark.

For 17 years now with this major international event over the New Year period in the Eternal City that is Rome, we have entertained and thrilled huge numbers of Roman citizens.

The Parade on New Year’s Day follows one of the most iconic routes featuring as it does the Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corsa, Via Condotti, and Piazza Spagna.  More than 200,000 Romans and tourist come out to watch the amazing day/night Parade.

Organisers of the much-loved turn-of-year tradition, Destination Events, have breathed new life into free family spectacular and will fill the streets of the Eternal City with music, culture, colour and entertainment from across Italy and beyond.

And the news just gets better and better with the return of a full complement of orchestral and choral concerts in historic, iconic locations from some very talented students.

Director of Rome New Year, Lizzie Bone, said: “We are delighted to be back on the streets of the city we love.  We aim to entertain, enthral and inspire – with a fabulous free celebration of New Year.”
